This is favorite spot for us. They love getting to meander around the garden, hike up to the top and look over Boise. No matter how many times we go, it never gets old. This Botanical Garden is always updating and expanding. Well kept. Helpful? Thank Cindy K Report

The Idaho Botanical Garden (IBG) is a nonprofit botanical garden located on 50 acres (200,000 m2) at 2355 North Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, Idaho, United States. Until 1973 the site served as the Old Idaho State Penitentiary’s farm and nursery. After the penitentiary was closed, the land lay dormant for more than a decade, and in 1984 the gardens were first created. The facility is operated by a private, non-profit 501(c) corporation. To help fund the garden, an admission fee is charged for entry.

Different rules apply to Outlaw Field Concerts. GENERAL ADMISSION Outlaw Field Concerts take place outdoors on a large, grassy field and are typically all general admission shows. Guests are encouraged to be courteous to others, however they are welcome to enjoy the concert while standing, sitting, and/or dancing. We find that guests in the front quarter of the field, closest to the stage, will often be standing or dancing. Guests are welcome to find a spot for their blanket or chairs wherever they feel comfortable within the field’s perimeters.  Please avoid standing on pathways obstructing concert-goers passing by and the view of those sitting on the edge of pathways. Please contact us at 208-343-8649 for more information on what to expect at an Outlaw Field Concert. WEATHER All concerts are held rain or shine. Be prepared for extremes such as heat, wind, or rain. Dress accordingly, as the temperature may drop noticeably after sunset. No umbrellas please. SMOKING To protect our collections and concertgoers, the Idaho Botanical Garden is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. Thank you for your cooperation.
