You can reach further and more safely on a saddle chair. Saddle-sitting preserves your spinal curves even when you bend forward. As the saddle-seat frees your legs to move, turning, moving and reaching out for things becomes quick and safe, almost gymnastic.

Saddle Office Chair

Some saddle chairs include not only height adjustments but also a tilt mechanism. There is also a divided saddle chair model on the market that has an adjustable gap between the two seat parts. Accessories, such as elbow and wrist supports, are available for saddle chairs to make different work tasks easier.

Because the saddle chair is higher than a normal office chair, the desk has to be higher as well. For this purpose there are desks that can be electronically or mechanically adjusted to fit the user. A saddle chair can also be used with a normal office desk, but then the desk has to be lifted up with height extension pieces.

Saddle Office Chair

Riding-like sitting on a saddle chair differs from sitting on a conventional chair. Saddle chair users sit 20–30 cm higher, which puts the hips and the knees into a 135° angle, compared to the 90° angle typically associated with sitting on a traditional chair.

Mind you, not all of us embraced the saddle-sitting concept immediately. For some of us, the seats were uncomfortable at first, and some thought them so silly looking that they wouldn’t even try them for a year or two. However, over time, the idea caught on. And some of us who have had back and neck pain for many years, in any ergonomic chair we’ve ever tried (and we’ve tried hundreds – I assure you!) finally found relief in the saddle.

Seat Cushion This ergonomic stool encourages easy movement and can accommodate a wide range of users and tasks. This stool’s contoured foam cushion helps minimize pressure on your thighs and knees to ensure lasting comfort and proper circulation in your legs. Adjustable Seat Height This is a great feature if the stool will be used by multiple people or at more than one work surface. Position your seat height so thighs are parallel to the floor and feet are flat for healthy circulation in your legs. Casters This chair features hard plastic casters that are ideal for carpeted floors. Soft plastic casters, best for hard floors, can be ordered. Contact us for details.

The saddle chair seat is either solid or divided. A divided seat reduces pressure on the perineum and lowers the temperature in the genital area. A divided seat is thought to be healthier, especially for men, than a solid seat.
